About Gwen
Gwen trained in technical theatre at RADA and went onto work at the Royal Exchange Theatre’s busy sound department. Since then Gwen’s career has involved television, theatre, circus and street theatre. She has been called the ‘Swiss army knife of theatre’ and works as a technical manager, director, dramaturge, performer and devisor for theatre companies all over the UK.
Ten years ago Gwen fell in love with Snowdonia in North Wales, where she now lives off grid in a yurt with her partner and son, working from their former circus van.
Green Truck Studios
The idea to help performers produce online audio and video content came to Gwen during the first lockdown of 2020. Asked to help a local amateur dramatics group put together a video, Gwen quickly found a way she could combine all her skills in directing theatre, playing music and engineering to support other performers find an online voice. The Arts Council of Wales supported her idea and The Green Truck Studios were born.

Snowdonia
The National Park of Snowdonia is situated in the North Western region of Wales. It is home to Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, as well as many other beautiful peaks, lakes, trails and coastline. In recent years Snowdonia has become a mecca for tourists from far and wide, drawn to the area for outdoor pursuits, such as hiking, rock-climbing, mountain biking and kayaking.
How virtual choirs/ orchestras work
Once you have chosen the piece you want to perform you will send a guide track to participants. They will record their part on a device at home and send it to us.
We will provide you with all the instructions and tech support you need to lead your group to creating a virtual choir/orchestra. When participants have recorded their contribution at home - they send it to us and we will work closely with you to combine it into an online concert you can share with your audiences.
